Solly Msimanga on “Where next for the DA and for the GNU?”
Solly Tshepiso Msimanga was elected Federal Chairperson of the Democratic Alliance (DA) at the party’s congress in April this year, unseating the incumbent Ivan Meyer. That congress has been described as a transfer of power from the old guard to young party leaders, and Msimanga has described his mission as repositioning the DA as a party more representative of South Africa’s demographic make-up. He suggests the DA should go head-to-head with the ANC ahead of the 2029 national and provincial elections and describes the congress at which he was elected as a reset for the party.
Mr Msimanga will address the Cape Town Press Club on the topic, “Where next for the DA and for the Government of National Unity?”
He will take questions.
