Minister of Higher Education Buti Manamela

Minister of Higher Education and Training Buti Manamela will address the Cape Town Press Club on the National Student Financial Aid Scheme. He will focus on its governance, financial stability, 2027 application cycle, projected shortfall and a sustainable student funding model.

Manamela was a youth activist and former National Secretary of the Young Communist League. He has served in Parliament since 2009 and held deputy ministerial roles in the Presidency and Higher Education.

He is a member of the ANC National Executive Committee and the SACP Central Committee.

He will take questions.
