Advocate Anton du Plessis – Can SA pull itself back from the rule of law precipice?

Advocate Anton du Plessis is CEO of Business Against Crime South Africa and was formerly Deputy National Director of Public Prosecutions. His international roles include serving as Legal and Criminal Justice Coordinator at the United Nations Security Council Counter-Terrorism Executive Directorate in New York, and as a Criminal Justice Expert with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime in Vienna.

He has more than 25 years’ experience across government, multilateral institutions and civil society in over 20 African countries, working on complex crime, counter-terrorism, organised crime, prosecutorial reform and security-sector transformation.

Du Plessis will address the Cape Town Press Club on whether South Africa can pull itself back from the rule of law precipice.

He will take questions.
