Solly Moeng on South Africa’s foreign policy
Solly Moeng has been a public figure in South Africa for many years, writing. columns in the Cape Argus, Cape Times, and later fin24 and BizNews.
He co-founded the civic movement SA 1st Forum and just over three years ago The Unite South Africa Movement (TUSAM). But he has stepped back from this role to become a candidate for Parliament for Action South Africa, as their designated foreign policy spokesperson if elected in the upcoming general elections. He returns to South Africa after three years in Switzerland.
Moeng was marketing manager for South African Tourism in Canada and later served as country manager in the United States, where he played a key role in repositioning South Africa’s image after 9/11.
An expert in brand management, Moeng has been recognised for his work with the erstwhile National Botanical Institute (since renamed South African National Biodiversity Institute – SANBI) and CapeNature. He has also headed Woolworths’ Corporate Communication and PR Division and founded the Africa Brand Summit.
Solly Moeng will address the Cape Town Press Club on: “Voters will stand behind our foreign policy when they trust our government’s values”.
