Dr Max Price, former UCT Vice-Chancellor on Academic Freedom, Inclusivity & Protesting
Max Price was the vice-chancellor of the University of Cape Town for 10 years from August 2008 until June 2018. His period of office included the turbulent years of the Fees Must Fall protests that shook the tertiary education sector to the core.
Price has now written a gripping insider’s account of this period and his tenure as UCT Vice-Chancellor.
He will address the Cape Town Press Club on academic and artistic freedom, institutional racism and inclusiveness, the funding of higher education and the limits of protest.
He will take questions.
