Celebrating 50 Years of Press Freedom – Cape Town Press Club Gala Dinner

Since its inception in 1975, the Cape Town Press Club has focused on furthering the interests of journalists and the media. Please join us for a gala dinner as we celebrate half a century of defending press freedom.

Our guest speaker, Lord Peter Hain, will be in conversation with Professor Richard Calland.

Lord Hain served as MP for Neath (1991-2015) and held senior roles in the UK Labour Government for 12 years, including seven in the Cabinet. A key negotiator of the 2007 Northern Ireland settlement, he also served as Foreign Minister for Africa, the Middle East and Europe, chaired the UN Security Council and brokered international treaties. He has authored 27 books. His latest book, Liberation and Corruption, will be available for purchase.
