Caryn Dolley – How organised crime saturates our lives in unexpected ways

Journalist Caryn Dolley has unmasked the global drug kingpins who have been operating in South Africa with apparent impunity. She will address the Cape Town Press Club on the links between narcotics, politics and the state, between the country’s criminal underworld, the police and politicians.

Dolley will share her insights on how organised crime saturates our lives in unexpected ways.

As a reporter, she has covered topics ranging from South Africa’s biggest-ever gun-smuggling investigation, resulting in a threat to her life, and exposed how corruption and collusion within the state can lead to crimes, including murders, at street level. She has also focused on how South Africa fits into the global organised crime arena.

Clash of the Cartels, her latest book, will be available for sale.

She will take questions.
