A new beginning? Africa policy of the new German government – Ambassador Andreas Peschke

Ambassador Andreas Peschke was born in Dresden, Germany in 1969. He studied African Studies in Leipzig, Cologne, and London. He joined the Federal Foreign Office in 1996. From 1999 until 2002 he worked for the German Embassy in Nigeria, followed by a two-year stint at the German Embassy in Russia. Thereafter he spent two years in the European Directorate-General at the Federal Foreign Office. He worked for the Federal Foreign Office in various designations. In 2013 he became the German Ambassador to the Republic of Kenya. And he has been the Ambassador to the Republic of South Africa since October 2021.
