IRR’s Frans Cronje @ 6 Spin Street [ LATE LUNCH ]

Picture South Africa in 10 years. Are the angry poor rising up, seizing land and businesses? Will the ANC survive two more elections? Will the middle classes still braai in the suburbia or will we go the way of Zimbabwe?

South Africa is at a tipping point, Frans Cronje believes. This bright and energetic CEO of the Institute of Race Relations, identifies the key trends in the economy, politics and society which hold the clues to our immediate future.

The ‘curse of rising expectations’ lies at the root of much of the instability in the country. He identifies the road choices ahead- the Narrow, the Wide, the Rocky and the Toll.

Cronje, the author of A Time Traveller's Guide to Our Next Ten Years, will take questions.
