Herman Giliomee @ Kelvin Grove Club [ LUNCH ]

Dubbed variously a “snake in our midst”, the “boer in the woodpile”, Hermann Giliomee – most famous perhaps for his The Last Afrikaner Leaders – has now weaved together the story of his own life.

He grew up in the heart of the Afrikaner nationalist movement, but cut his own path in examining the rise and entrenchment of exclusive Afrikaner power.

The Stelllenbosch historian Giliomee will ponder the present crisis in South Africa but also talk about his autobiography.

He will take questions.
