DA leader Mmusi Maimane @ Kelvin Grove [ LUNCH ]

On August 8 the national assembly debated a motion of no confidence in President Jacob Zuma. He won narrowly. At the march before the vote led by opposition parties including the Democratic Alliance, the DA leader Mmusi Maimane responded to EFF leader Julius Malema's remark that President Zuma should go back to Nkandla to look after his cows. Maimane said, no, this was not suitable. He should, like other criminals "go to jail".

Maimane has since the vote - which summoned 177 votes against Zuma including somewhere between 30 and 40 ANC MPs - called for a national election.

He will take questions.
